Inland Empire Valley Flute Society

About the Scholarship:

The purpose of this scholarship is to help a  dedicated student who is having financial difficulties paying for their flute lessons.

Applications will be accepted until May 1. Applicants will be notified of their status once the applications have been gone through, finalists will be chosen. Those finalist may be asked to appear before the membership and answer questions.  Final decision will be based upon financial need and students dedication.

Funds received will go directly to the flute instructor, applicant may choose their own instructor.

Applicant will be responsible for paying half of their lesson fees for 6 month, scholarship will pay for the other half. They will also be responsible for performing at one membership meeting during the next year.

Requirements of the scholarship:

Based on financial need.

Applicant must be a current member, or the student of a teacher member, of the society.  Current member meaning dues are paid.

Any age or ability may apply.

Winner will perform at a meeting  of the society during the next year.

Applicant must provide the name of a flute teacher they would like the scholarship to go to.  Scholarship may or may not cover the entire fees of the teacher, applicant will be responsible for any remaining fees due the private instructor.

Three Members of the society will be appointed by the executive board to create, send out and review the applications. All decision are final.

2005-2006 1^st recipient: Mildred Hinds, 2^nd recipient: Monika Oeinck, Students of Jackie Aronowitz.

2006-2007-No applications were turned in, so there was no award given.

2007-2008-Brenda Adorador member.  She is currently studying with Lynn Ennis. 

2008-2009-Brittney Wright. Student of Dee Odgen.
